This model exploration proposes a cliff home suspended from tubes penetrating far below the Earth’s surface to graze the ocean below.

Resulting from a pairing of two precedent houses, Casa Malaparte and Paul Nelson’s Suspended House, this design explores the role of views and viewing, with a bold relationship to the scenic cliff site.

While the home inflicts minimal damage on the surface and landscape of the cliff and leaves an unobstructed view of the ocean, the pristine beauty of the cliff is still sabotaged by the highly contrived steel ‘frame’.
